“Field of Dreams” is considered to be one of the greatest sports movies of all-time. Now it’s time for the sequel: “Field of NIGHTMARES: The Detroit Tigers Go To Hell!!!”
Yes, many Christians are quite upset because the Tigers are playing their home opener today, Good Friday, at 1:05 p.m. — and it is believed that Jesus hung on the cross on this day from Noon to 3:00 p.m.
(Granted, Jesus didn’t hang on the cross from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. And it might be hard for some people to be all bummed out about His “death.” I mean … isn’t that like willfully forgetting the ending of a movie you’ve seen a thousand times? Helloooo … He comes back to life. There’s an annual holiday for it and everything. In fact, you have plans to go to your grandmother’s on Sunday to celebrate it. It’s been on your calendar for weeks. But I digress …)
THE DETROIT TIGERS ARE GOING TO HELL!!! (evil-sounding organ riff)
And that’s awesome because, as I said, it gives me the background to pen my first screenplay: “Field Of NIGHTMARES: The Detroit Tigers Go To Hell!!!”
I’ve already got one line written …
“Is this hell? No, it’s Detroit.”
And then it pretty much writes itself after that. In fact, I might not even have to write anything. Maybe it will be a documentary and I’ll just let the camera run.
